I was born in Merrillville Indiana. I graduated  from Merrillville High School and Indiana University- Purdue University with a Masters Degree in social work. I began my career working in higher education at an inner city college located downtown in Chicago.  It was in that environment that I developed a passion for serving vulnerable populations. I began to observe  the importance for awareness regarding childrens mental health and safety. When I moved to Indianapolis, I began a career working for the Department of Child Services.I worked for the State of Indiana for five years as a Family Case Manager and Supervisor. I have experience in building trust based relationships with children, youth and families. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to engage with youth of all ages that are experiencing severe mental health issues (bi polar disorder, add, adhd ocd, odd etc). My experience in working alongside these children and their families helped to develop my passion for finding creative ways to help children and teens learn how to navigate through life and learn healthy coping skills.

I enjoy collaborating with my clients and their families in a multidisciplinary approach. I believe that nurturing a child’s  mental health is important. Mental health interventions equip children with the tools necessary to navigate stressful situations in life. I am grateful for the opportunity to help.

I have over 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in Social Work at The Department of Child Services. I utilize skills and techniques ranging from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches and family therapy. I enjoy working with young adults and children from all walks of life in a supportive environment.

When I’m not working, I am love spending time with my three children and my puppy Gigi. I am a very active team mom. I spend a lot of time at gymnastics, football, and basketball games and practices for my two sons and my daughter. I enjoy watching older tv shows ..Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie (just to name a few).

I am very excited to collaborate with you and the rest of the team at Mini minds to meet your child’s mental health needs!
