Alexis Adams, LMHCA

Mental Health Therapist
Brief info

Alexis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate who works with adults who are experiencing life stress and can’t seem to find balance, especially moms and parents; whether it’s feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, low self-esteem, or stress and overwhelming pressure they aren’t the version of themselves they wish to be. Life has become too much; they know what they want but find themselves stuck.

I knew from a very early age I wanted to be a therapist. I wanted to use my personal experiences to help others who find themselves in similar situations. I knew how valuable having relatable experience was for me in my journey and I wanted to provide that for others. In parenthood, that is no different. Parenthood is all-encompassing, and yet we are taught to resume life as normal without any guidance or consideration for who we have become in this life-altering event; a dizzying amount of expectation and stress. My goal is to use my experience personally, professionally, and academically to meet you where you are and to empower you to be who you want to become, and that isn’t for me to decide. You will find a non-judgemental space where you have permission without guilt to get to know yourself in order to thrive in parenthood and beyond. I will provide practical tools and resources that will create lasting results.
I have over 5 years of experience working with individuals, both one-on-one and in groups, and consider myself a forever student, continually learning the best way to serve those I work with. I have a particular interest in the mind-body connection and altering our perception and experience of emotions to make our responses more intentional and effective. I received my bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in clinical mental health from Minnesota State University. When I am not supporting my clients, you can find me with my family taking advantage of local events, activities, and trails.
