While originally from Rhode Island, I spent several years in Arizona before moving to Indiana 13 years ago. I love being a Hoosier and consider Indy my adopted home. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a social worker and that was solidified during my first internship in college working with a grief program for children called “Tu Nidito”. I absolutely loved my time there and was so moved by the transformative power of therapy. I went on to receive a B.A. in psychology with a minor in family studies from the University of Arizona and then, when my now husbands career brought us to Indiana, received my MSW from IU with a focus on children and child welfare. I spent several years as a home based therapist working with children involved in the DCS system. There I was able to work with a variety of clients and families, really honing in on my passion for preschool and elementary aged children who struggle with Emotional Dysregulation, Anxiety and OCD. I believe that all children can benefit from social emotional learning, increasing their emotional vocabulary and learning how to effectively cope with the anxiety that they will face in their lifetime. I love teaching from a growth mindset and helping kids reach their true potential. While your child may be the reason you found your way to Mini Minds, I also love helping families to become the best family unit they can be and find working with families as a whole during the therapeutic process to be extremely beneficial. Parent education is so important and beneficial to the mental health of the whole family. Therapy is a wonderful tool for everyone!
When I’m not working, you’ll find me being a mom to my three kiddos (ages 10, 13 and 14) and wife to my awesome husband, Clint. We have two Aussies, Indy and Etsy, who keep us busy! I also love to read, cook and travel…especially anywhere with a beach and lots of sunshine! I hope to be meeting you soon!
